Neurofeedback

Life can be over whelming and thoughts can impact our day to day ability to handle situations. Our nervous system controls everything in the body.  When the stress mechanism of the body is on overload, the ability to function and handle daily tasks diminishes. It can change our moods and our behaviors.

What is Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is a way to reset and train brain activity to produce proper function.   When the brain waves are imbalanced, headaches, anxiety, depression, addiction, procrastination, seizures, tics, tremors, emotional behavior imbalances, mood swings, concentration, brain fog, digestive challenges, vertigo, insomnia, and nerve pain (just to name a few) can result.

Why is it important to have proper brain wave activity?

Brain waves are impulses to communicate information from one nerve cell to another.  Brain wave frequencies can change and can get interrupted.  Interruptions can come from cell phones, screen time, internet, and chemical imbalances (medications, the wrong supplements, environmental chemicals, lack of water, increased sugar, and food additives).  The activity in your brain determines everything you feel and do. Brainwaves tell us  a great deal about how you feel and function; your thoughts, habits, stress levels, underlying mood and overall brain function.

First Steps Towards Your Neurological Wellness:

Phone or Email Office:

A Health Coach will gather information, through a questionnaire, to help Dr. Clark determine if neurofeedback would be modality for your health care needs.

Acceptance For Moving Forward with Brain Mapping:

Once Dr. Clark accepts your case to move forward, you will receive an email with additional paperwork that will need to be filled out and returned within 48 hours of your first appointment.  That email will also request your availability to schedule a one on one appointment

Analyze Results

The next step involves the Doctor analyzing your EEG recording to determine Neurological components, as well as irregular brain patterns. This process takes approximately two hours. After which you will meet with the Doctor to understand the results and the path to take moving forward.

Report of Finding

One of the most important factors of your wellness journey is guidance and understanding of your Neurological deficiencies. During your 1/2 hour - 1 hour Report of Findings meeting, Dr. Clark will review and discuss a plain moving forward based on the information of the Mapping.  Dr. Clark will provide you with a health and wellness program to help you optimize your dis-ease to wellness.

Program

Most Neurological Disorders take 12-18 months to resolve. Programs are customized individually and are designed to help optimize the function of the body.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is Brain Mapping?

The brain map is an important tool which allows us to image the brain in realtime.  This is very similar to blood work but for the brain. This is am important tool we use to evaluate your brain waves and identify opportunities to improve communication between various regions of the brain.

The brain map is able to capture a window of brain activity, analyze the data and create a visual representation for each lobe of the brain and each specific brain wane (beta, alpha, theta, and delta)

What to expect from a neurofeedback session!

You will be hooked up to a computer using electodes.  During a Neurofeedback session, we compare what your brain is actually doing to what it should be doing to optimize health.  When your brain is responding to the changes that optimize function, you are rewarded with a positive response on a computer screen. Usually this Neurofeedback  is in the form of music or movie.

The sounds and images tell you immediately when your brain approaches a more efficient place and when not. When the movie or sound plays and the colors are bright, this is because your brain is approaching the desired state. When the movie, sound and color fades, this is because your brain is heading the other way. The more your brain is exercised into reaching a more comfortable, more efficient position, the better it gets at it. As with learning any new skill, it simply requires time and repetition.

Direct Feedback

The process of Direct Feedback is a lot like re booting a frozen computer. The computer measures your real time brainwaves and sends an algorithmic message back to your brain for correction.

Not every person experiences the same symptoms when it comes to Neurological dis-ease.  Some people have physical symptoms while others have behavior or emotional challenges.  Through the process, patient's who maintain commitment to their health see a remarkable difference in their life.

What is Functional Neurology!

Functional Neurology

Functional Neurology is a systems neurobiology–based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease. Each symptom or differential diagnosis may be one of many contributing to an individual’s illness.

A diagnosis can be the result of more than one cause. For example, depression can be caused by many different factors, including inflammation, head trauma, emotional post-traumatic stress, etc. Likewise, a cause such as inflammation may lead to a number of different diagnoses, including depression. The precise manifestation of each cause depends on the individual’s genes, environment, and lifestyle, and only treatments that address the right cause will have lasting benefit beyond symptom suppression.  Taking a systematic approach from dis-ease to wellness is part of the healing journey.

Finding Your Inner Child to Heal Dis-ease

"A slip on the snowy sidewalk in the winter is a small thing.

It happens to millions.

A fall from a ladder in the summer is a small thing.

It also happens to millions.

The slip or a fall produces a subluxation.

The subluxation is a small thing.

The subluxation produces pressure on a nerve.

That pressure is a small thing. That decreased flowing produces a diseased body and brain.

That is a big thing to that man."
